How to describe us.

Short (one paragraph)

Friends Coffee Company is a locally owned coffee shop on the square in downtown Elkhorn, Wisconsin, serving espresso, cold brew, matcha, ice cream, and scratch-made food — plus a mobile espresso cart that travels to weddings, corporate events, and private parties across southern Wisconsin.

Long (full boilerplate)

Friends Coffee Company has been part of downtown Elkhorn, Wisconsin since 2012. Located at 11 N Wisconsin St, Elkhorn, WI 53121, the shop serves espresso drinks, cold brew, matcha, specialty sodas, ice cream, and a food menu built for lingering — but the coffee has always been the excuse, not the point. Friends exists to be a place where everyone has a seat at the table.

Each month the Friends Collective drops four new specialty drinks, and guests vote on their favorite. Through Friends Cares, the shop supports local schools, teams, nonprofits, and neighbors across Walworth County. Friends Cart, the company's mobile espresso bar, brings the same experience to weddings, corporate events, brand activations, and private parties throughout southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.

Friends Coffee Company is owned by David Redford, who purchased the business in 2026 from founder Kelly Odling.

Please write the name as Friends Coffee Company on first reference and Friends Coffee Co. after. The mobile bar is Friends Cart — not "the Friends coffee truck."

Brand basics

How Friends should feel.

Color

Black and white, mostly.

Black

#000000

White

#FFFFFF

Black and white lead every design. Warm accent tones show up occasionally, but stay subtle — never loud, never the focus.

Typography

Clean, with character.

Heading

Body copy stays simple and easy to read.

Marketing graphics with type on screen use TAN Harmoni. Everywhere else, a clean serif headline paired with a plain-spoken sans.

Photography & voice

Natural, warm, real.

  • Real moments over staged setups — drinks, food, our team, the room.
  • Warm, light editing. A soft background keeps the subject clear.
  • Voice is familiar and welcoming, never corporate or hype-y.
  • The test: does it feel like Friends?
